The weekend had finally came. After all the studying and the hard work she was glad to finally be in some casual clothing. Elizabeth had awoken early that morning to see the sun come up in the girls dormitories. Most of them were up already and some still sleeping. It was called the weekend for a reason, to sleep in and catch up on some homework or rest. After getting into her normal casual wear she headed down the staircase and looked around her surroundings.
Her hair was covering up her tank top straps and her sweater was as well except it was somewhat hanging off her shoulder but she didn't mind. Walking into the great hall to get an apple she headed out to the court yard where she would sit and watch the birds fly and also hear distant conversations. Elizabeth loved being here at Hogwarts. It was so magical. Perhaps she could also practice magic somehow.
As she walked out she waved to a few familiar faces and she looked about she found herself sitting on one of the benches in the court yard. The vines were coming up and she giggled lightly then took a bite of her apple. Placing a arm on her knees she watched the birds fly. It was going to be a lovely day.

The name Merrisal was extremely rare. She was the only one with that name that she had ever met. Her mom was an odd woman who loved things that were completely unique. It was no surprise that she would have made up a name and called it her daughter’s. The story behind how it was made was probably the most unusual. “My mother actually made it up.” She said softly with a smile. “It’s a combination of a merry-go-round and a parasol.” She said before laughing softly. “I’m not sure if you know what those are. They’re muggle items, but they were my mother’s two favorite gifts that my grandfather had brought home to her from France when she was little.”
She smiled. “Oh! So you do know muggle items then!” She said gloriously. She then calmed herself realizing the tone of the girl now. “I’m muggleborn,” she said softly. “There are more of you then there are of us. We’re more frowned upon by those select few, but don’t let it get you down, kay!?” She said happily. “I think we could make an excellent team.” She said with a smile. In her mind it was like combining the bravest of the brave and the smartest of the smart together to form a team. In her mind – they could conquer anything even if Merri had secrets to hide.
Merrisal laughed lightly. “I’m sure they don’t look much different. I’ve only seen a glimpse of the Gryffindor commons when I was in first year.” She said lightly. “I’ll take you to Ravenclaw tower sometime if you’d like. No one would mind as long as you were with another Ravenclaw.” This was half true. Most Ravenclaws were extremely full of themselves, believing that they were better than the rest because they were smarter than ninety percent of the student body, but Merrisal didn’t let it get to her. She would put them in their place if it came down to it. “I’ve been caught a couple times in the kitchens. Believe me I may look tiny but I love food!” She laughed at herself. She was one of those people that could eat just about anything and not gain a single ounce.

Elizabeth had been out and about all morning. As she remained where she was on one of the benches out on the courtyard in Hogwarts she gazed up at the sky. It was truly a remarkable day and she wasn't sure on what it had in store for her. Elizabeth looked around as she saw a few familiar faces passing by her. Waving to a few of them she smiled and then turned her attention back to the sky. Waving her wand around she noticed a few sparks coming from it. A smile came to her face then she giggled lightly as she saw a butterfly come from it.
The butterflies then disappeared and she looked over at a voice that interrupted her thinking and her relaxation. Sitting up Elizabeth smiled softly and said nothing for a moment then she looked her up and down for a moment. "Yes! They are very much so beautiful" she said smiling upon the new girl. The girl seemed interesting and yet friendly all at once.
Turning her direction back to the girl known as Merrisal she smiled "That's a beautiful name. Merrisal. I had never heard anyone with that name before" she said smiling. "Don't worry about it. My name is Elizabeth Devereux! Im from Gryffindor" she said softly. "Most people call me Elizabeth or Liz, or lizzie. I answer to both!" she said to her politely. "Your more than welcome to sit down if you want to Merrisal!" she said in a happy tone. Elizabeth loved meeting new people as well and she wanted more friends here.
ooc: I don't mind one bit! ^^

Many found her to be more of a pain then a breath a fresh air. She would come on too strong, but she never meant to. She was unafraid to throw herself into the thick of things and attempt to mingle with those whom she did not know. She was interested in people, interested in their thoughts, and for some reason always wished she could know what they were thinking. She currently had a lot to hide and she wondered what everyone else was hiding, too. She wondered if maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t the only one who had a secret that was meant to keep. It was something that had to be held on to.
She hadn’t meant to make the situation uncomfortable in any way. Truthfully she had seen the girl sitting alone and felt a slight bit of remorse for her. Though she seemed content, what was a day sitting alone going to do? Merri had understood quite well the feeling of wanting to just sit and think by yourself for a few moment. The feeling of actually breathing was something that was very comforting to her mind. This situation, however, had her thinking about many things in particular. She just didn’t want the girl to feel left out or anything. She wanted to give her company.
She smiled lightly. “I’ve always liked that name,” she said with a small chuckle. “I think I’ll just call you Liz, if that’s alright. You can call me Merri. That’s what I’m mostly known as.” She didn’t say anything about it but she absolutely hated her name. She wished that she could have changed it, but it was something that seemed much to over reactive. She settled with it, though she still didn’t approve. “Thanks,” She said kindly. “I just didn’t want to intrude on anything. You seemed kinda lonely.” She said comfortingly.
She looked back up to the skies. She often thought about what was beyond the clouds. What was up there that needed to be protected by invisibility? Her mind was a bit out of sorts when it came to these sorts of things. This, however, was exactly who she was. “So, you’re a Gryffindor?” She asked finally. “Do you like it?” This may have seemed odd. She, however, seemed to be drawing up a blank.

"Your name is pretty interesting. Merrisal" she said smiling softly. "Its obviously different from what I have heard recently..." she said looking upon her new friend. As Merrisal spoke, Elizabeth remained quiet after her little statement upon her name. Elizabeth then brought her legs together and placed her arms around them. A smile was upon her face and she looked upon her for a moment. "Psh, Yea that's fine. I'm mostly called that anyway by professors" she said smiling.
Elizabeth looked upon her as she spoke. "Yes, I am a bit lonely, considering I don't have that many friends.. " she said softly. Trying not to have other students make fun of her. "After all, It is difficult to find other people who are like you. Im a half blooded person. My father's a wizard and my mother is a muggle. " she said softly to Merri. Her red hair was upon her shoulders now and she looked over to the forest then back at her.
As she looked upon her as she questioned her about being in Gryffindor she nodded "Yea. Its alright. Though I am very curious on what the other dormitories look like" she said grinning lightly. "I enjoy getting up at night and wondering around the castle. I try not to get caught though. Considering no student isn't allowed after hours" she said rolling her eyes. Elizabeth looked back at Merri for a moment but said nothing more.

Elizabeth twisted her hair lightly around her finger as she listened to Merrisal speak about her name. It was quiet interesting and she loved it. It was very unique and rare at the same time. So she was the first person to have that name. "Ah, I see. Yes. It sounds wonderful, Your mother is a very talented person to come up with Unique names" she said smiling upon Merrisal. Elizabeth couldn't help but hear the excitement in Merrisal's voice when she asked her about the muggle items.
She smiled. “Oh! So you do know muggle items then!” She said gloriously. She then calmed herself realizing the tone of the girl now. “I’m muggleborn,” she said softly. “There are more of you then there are of us. Nodding her head she said "yes! I love them. They are all very interesting. Most of them though. But I enjoy learning about magic more. Its fascinating!" she said smiling upon upon Merrisal. "Too bad you aren't a Gryffindor. I mean,we would be able to see each other when we go to bed, dinner, and whatever..." she said simply. Merrisal was nice and she was very interesting.
Her eyes went wide when Merrisal invited her to the Ravenclaw tower. "Oh! That would be wonderful. I really do enjoy exploring the castle. Its just so lovely and beautiful here. I never want to leave. But then my parents might wonder if I stayed here over Christmas Break" she said giggling lighty. "Hey we should go down and take a walk somewhere possibly upon the grounds of course. " she said softly as she stood up from the bench and looked around then back at her.

Merrisal shrugged softly. “Yeah, I guess so.” Her relationship with her mother was everything but normal. They were close as could be before she passed away, but she was also not around. She was a woman who was always needed elsewhere and Merrisal was left to fend for herself most of the time. She kept her smile towards the girl. “It's definitely unusual.” She was thankful that she had a mother whom she had a strong bond with. Her smile became fake, though. The accident remained in the back of her mind that was still threatening to make her tear. She had stayed strong, however. She didn't want her mother to see her cry.
She smiled softly to her. “The worlds are so odd when you switch back and forth.” She said lightly. “I remember how interested my mum used to be. She used to ask me to show her something, but I told her I had to wait till I graduated before I could do magic outside of school.” Merrisal knew when to follow the rules. She laughed at this recent saying of hers, though. It pained her to think about it, however. She realized that she had technically broken a promise to her mother because she wouldn't be able to follow through with it. She, however, continued to hide her troubles. She grew very good at doing just that.
She laughed softly. “I agree.” She smiled. “It's refreshing to meet someone a little out there like I am.” She said. Most of her ravenclaw classmates were completely full of themselves. They believed they were better than everyone else just because they had high grades. The other students from other houses, no less, were just as smart as the lot of them. That's what she didn't understand. She just couldn't figure out why, exactly, everyone reacted so selfishly. It was like this girl was a breath of fresh air. “Sure,” she said shrugging. “Got anything in mind?” She wondered. She didn't have any preferences except that she had to stay away from the lake.

Rolling her eyes she said "Tell me about it. I hate going back to the muggle world after being here at Hogwarts" she said softly as they began making her way down to the fields and to the lake. Elizabeth looked around then back at Merrisal as she spoke again. "I love learning about Magic. I don't know what it is but its fascinating really" she's said softly.
"There should be more muggles like us here at Hogwarts" she said giggling a moment later as she placed her hands in her pockets. It began to get a little cold. Her wand was in her pocket and she looked around and said nothing more bit. "I have yet to see the Quidditch Fields" she said to her a moment later.
It was true Elizabeth was hardly at any Quidditch game and she'd be fascinated if she could to it the stadiums and just watch the practices. Elizabeth wanted to watch a few of them and perhaps meet a few. It was an interesting game. She knew it was mandatory to go to the games to support your house but still. She was not comfortable with them. Elizabeth looked at her and then asked. "So, what classes are you taking here at Hogwarts?" she questioned a moment later as they began walking again.

She smiled happily to the girl, content to know that someone else got what she did, and began to feel a little less alone. “I know!” She said, suddenly. “I love learning about it to! It’s like… going back is so boring that I can’t stand it anymore. It’s okay, though, because I live in Hogsmeade all year round now. I don’t go to muggle London much anymore. I’m too afraid that I’ll get lost or something.” She said, laughing at herself.
“I agree,” she said, thinking about how much more content the world would be if it were even with pure bloods. “I believe that the world would be a lot more understanding if there were more people with muggle family lines.” She said. “I feel as if there would be less hate in the world.” The only problem with that was that she couldn’t believe it was anything but a dream and nothing more.
“Quidditch pitch, really?” She asked, amazed that she hadn’t been there before. “Sure, let’s go!” She smiled, feeling much more comfortable chatting with someone. Her morning had put her in such an odd mood, but it was nice to have a sort of friend to distract her from it. She turned to her as she got ready to walk. “Not many. I sort of took as many as I could last semester so I didn’t really have much of a choice. I have Potions, DADA, Astronomy, Ancient Runes, and Transfiguration this semester. You?” She wondered.
