It’s best that you read these carefully. It’s like the law, you will be punished even if you haven’t read them, but the punishment will not be in a good way, haha. Don’t worry – we’re not too strict! Ignorance of the rules is NOT an excuse, though.
Thank you!
Thank you!
1. NO. MARY. SUES. For those of you who don’t understand what a Mary Sue is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Sue[/blockquote]
In this talk it means no made up cannons. No "Lucinda Potter" or "Sarah Malfoy," or "Kelsey Weasley," or long lost twin, or long lost relative. Be creative! Create your own characters! Don't depend on the book! DO NOT BE A MARY SUE.
2. Power Characters and God Moding are unacceptable. That means, if your character is legally killed, then your character is dead. Period. Also, your character cannot be über powerful. Do not change your character's powers right in the middle of a post. If you want something new for your character than that’s great, but please seek permission first!
3. All posts must be in the third person and past tense. That means no “I walk over and punch you in the face.” It just looks silly. An admin WILL walk over and punch you in the face, though.
4. Please try to have a decent grasp of the English language. There is a spell check, please use it. Also, do not EVER use chat speak. Short handing words and substituting a numerical value for an actual word is a bad thing. A good example would be “He move 2 da lady an sed “How r u?” ” You look ridiculous.
5. Sexual content is not allowed here. If you want the forum to stay, then you must keep it out. Keep it PG-13, please. It's a proboards rule that I respect completely. So, please, help the admins by just leaving it out. The password to sorting is “Ryexcion”. Also, do not be a Tucker. For those of you who don't know what this means: What is a Tucker? - A Tucker is a role player who tries to magnetically bring girls to his knees. This feels like god-modding to us in a way, and we don't enjoy it. Take it to a separate IM on your own, but no where near the forum.
6. You have to want to post to post, but it's not a job, we understand that. We ask you to keep your posts at a minimum of 350 words. It’s not that much. If you’re blank on what to write then write about the most random things possible. Do the clouds look like shapes? Did Dumbledore just run by naked screaming the infamous Elder Swear?
7. No one player can have more than one character per account, please.
8. STAY ACTIVE!! It’s really, really stressful when someone is posting with you and have to wait forever for you to post. We do not want the site to die.
9. If you know you are going to be inactive from the site, let one of the admins know and or post in the leaving column!
10. Please have a REAL picture. Anime isn’t really the greatest thing to use for pictures. If you need help with this then feel free to have an open question in the CBox that says something like “I need help looking for a actor/actress.” Someone is bound to help you. If not, which is possible, feel free to talk to the admins. We’ve been on so many sites that we’re almost guaranteed to find a match!
11. Avatars are good!
12. Special Abilities: you must apply in the Special Abilities thread and be approved. If we say no, then please respect our decisions.
13. If you wish for your character to be something other than human such as a werewolf, speaker of Parsaltongue ... etcetera, there will be an apply-for-extras thread that you must, also, be approved for. Once again, if we say no, then please respect our decisions.
14. Be respect and mindful of other players and admins. We are here to have fun and roleplay, don’t mess with us. Think of it this way: Admins have the power to boot you off of the site, should we feel that you need this. If you can’t play well with others, you can’t play at all. We would also like to make a note that all in-character fights need to stay in-character. We just want this to be a relaxing place where everyone can be open and feel at home with everyone else. Even if you don’t like someone, please still try and be civilized.
15. Plagiarism is BAD. If you use someone else’s art or written piece, give credit where credit is due. You wouldn’t want someone stealing your art, so don’t steal someone else’s. It’s illegal anyway.
16. We expect you to help those who need it the best you can. Once you know the ropes you should be able to explain them clearly. Yes?
17. Passwords. STAY OUT OF ROOMS THAT YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN. Even if you know the passwords. For example: a Ravenclaw should not be posting in the Gryffindor commons, and a regular student should NOT be posting in the Head Boy/Girl commons. It is possible that many people will visit friend, but I mean this as a Ravenclaw should not be posting first in a different common room, and so on. There must be a member of the opposite house starting/inviting. Students, also, are NOT to post in the Dormitories that are not their. Guys can not post in the girls' and the girls can not post in the boys'.
18. Boundaries. Students should not, under any circumstances, be posting in the Ministry until I feel it is ready for the big scene with the cannons. Even if you state that "your parents are part of the Ministry," you should not be there unless there is another RPer, playing your parent.
19. Clues. If a post says "PRIVATE" DO NOT POST UNLESS YOU WERE TOLD TO! This is something that I see happen all the time. It is un-nessecary. Do not post anywhere in these, or you will be warned and your RPing powers will be revoked. Just watch the signs, please.
20. Instict. If there, by example, is a post that contains a bunch of death eaters discussing plans, do not walk in as an Order Member or student of some sort and be all like "Hey, what's up?" This is NOT COOL. It's common sense, people. Would they do that in the books?
21. No one knows everything. Even the Seers. There are some boundaries to what you can and can not use towards these powers.
22. Spells. IF YOU ARE STUNNED, YOU DO NOT MOVE! YOU ARE STUNNED, DAMNIT!!
23. C-Box. Do not take fights to the C-Box, because then people who come in as guests will leave under the impression that no one cares about what they are doing and that it will be a waste of energy to join. We want a family, not a war.
24. No advertising in the CBox, please. We have a thread for that, you silly gooses!
