James’ height is close to average for male, but he is a little taller than most of his fellow students. He always had to magically alter his clothing growing up, however, due to his unnatural growth span. He had gotten this tall by the age of thirteen and just stayed there, almost like running and then suddenly freezing in motion. He was actually taller than his father, which everyone had assumed came from the Weasley side of the family. It was an odd situation, however, to slightly tower over your own father. They had made it humorous, however, because Harry was just as easily entertained as James was, in a way.
His hair is a mop of dark brown, and always ridiculously messy. He never spends much time on it because he had found it to be useless. He would keep playing and playing, but it would continue to suffer its terrible fate of being out of control. It, however, had fit his personality. Beneath the locks are orbs of bright emerald, which clearly came from their grandmother Lilly. James was a spitting image of Harry with the Weasley height. It was very clear to see that they were father and son, especially standing right next to one another. James wasn’t much like his mom, he didn’t know why, but he had always looked up to his father more – especially after all the stories.
James always dresses comfortable and is a big fan of hooded sweatshirts in the winter. He doesn’t like to wear heavy coats, which drove his mother crazy because he would constantly get sick in the winter, but he loved the cold and the snow. He always wears jeans and absolutely detests dressing up. Dress robes and tuxedos are under the category of outside the comfort zone. Beneath the sweatshirt or in the summer you’ll find plain colored tees and long sleeves. He never wears polos and has been screamed at time and time again for altering his school robes. The fact that the pants are dress-like and not jeans drive him absolutely crazy. He also isn’t a fan of his house colors and has gotten detention for altering those, as well.

James is a mix of his father and his grandfather, though he had never met him. He loves a good prank, and isn’t afraid to get himself in a heap of trouble. He’s very proud of himself, viewing himself as the top of his class in ‘awesomeness’ and act as if everyone should bow down to him. He refuses to let anyone belittle him and he can sometimes take things too far. He doesn’t mean to hurt people, but he is never concerned about doing it on accident. His only concern is how he looks in the morning. It’s horrible, but true.
As a teenager he hated school and was known to have the worst grades. He, however, had not landed himself in detention for grades – but for believing that he was braver than anyone else – fashionably and verbally attacked his teachers. He viewed school as nothing but a waste of time. He chose not to follow through with any of them, was known to skip them, and was known to land himself in detention time after time again. He learned the value, however, and actually became very mature.
He is known to dress casually. Very rarely does he ever have to dress differenly from that. He's a very understanding guy and can actually be quite the gentleman when he wants to be. His addiction to running off to find an adventure has been cured, but not completely. He can still be caught once in a while with something up his sleeve.

other;
James Sirius Potter was born to Harry James and Ginevra Molly Potter on May 13th of 2008. They were loving parents, who loved them very much, but they were a little less strict than their grandparent, Molly and Arthur, had wanted. James would constantly hear his mother’s parents telling her that she spoiled the boys and Lily too much, but she had never admitted this. James, however, didn’t help in any case. He was the one who had constantly made the house stressful. He was a monster who liked to make a mess, liked to boss his siblings around, and who liked to remind them that he was the best just because he was born first. This, however, was never serious. It was petty childish conversations, but James was definitely the worst child to raise.
Growing up in a family with so many people had helped on his behalf. He loved to play pranks, but he couldn’t keep doing it on the same prey, because they would get too suspicious and begin to predict James’ moves. He would not let this happen. He was a stealthy troublemaker and would constantly pull the worst on people. He wouldn’t pull them on his siblings, however, because of the talks he would get from his parents when he did. He had pulled one on Albus once, unaware of the consequences, and swore that he had seen his mother breathe fire. His father laughed, however, and then the fighting began. They barely ever fought, but it was nice to know that his father was occasionally on his side of the argument.
When James got older, however, he had a problem with sneaking out of the house. He got caught, most of the time, but it didn’t stop him. He liked to meddle into things that were best not to. He liked to run to the nearest playground. They had one near their house, but it was pretty much abandoned. No one kept it clean, clear of grass, or even attractive. It was a mess of weed and metal, but it was James’ wonderland. He would pretend that he owned this place and everything was his kingdom. The tunnels were his castle, the springy animals were his horse and carriage, and, his favorite, the tallest slide was his throne. He had never let his siblings know about this place, on account of protecting something so dear to him, and also protecting his image.
Going to Hogwarts had changed his life. He had made friends okay, but enemies as easily as could be. He had missed home, though. He missed his sanctuary, but he missed his family more. His younger sister, Lilly, was James’ greatest treasure. She had this way to change things and to change people just by getting to know them. She was the only one who could ever keep him under control. When she had begun Hogwarts, things had gotten a little more complicated. It was no longer writing her a letter everyday, but actually seeing her and keeping himself under control around her. He viewed himself as ruling the school, but she was the most important thing to him still. He didn’t know why he was so protective of her, but he wouldn’t let her out of his sight. She was the only one who could ever get him to stop wreaking havoc.
His brother, on the other hand, was very distant. Being in his enemy house had made things difficult, and somewhat awkward. He had heard his parents’ late conversations about how they fear Albus’ turn out, but James believed that family would come first. It was hard connecting his enemies with his brother, but it was something that he was easily used to after a little while. His brother had changed because of that house, which had made James have a bigger and better reason for disliking the Slytherins so much. It was hard to even consider Albus a brother anymore, especially when he hardly came home for Christmas. He always had an excuse, which would turn into a lie, which would make their mother cry. That is not how she raised them.
After Hogwarts had become comfortable, James' need for pranking and breaking the rules came to a halt. Many problems had broken out at this time, especially with his best friends, but it had all worked out in the end. He had turned his life around, fighting for at least a chance at something other than a nobody, and found himself comfortable with owning a small shop in Diagon Alley. It wasn't his first choice job, but he never really had one. He did what he thought could support him and his wondrous girlfriend, Dawn.
