Unbelievable.
Un-freaking-believable.. Rachel paced back and forth through her office, occasionally looking up at a picture of a random Headmaster or Headmistress who had her position before her. "I've had this job for just a few weeks and already, THIS had to happen." She threw the Daily Prophet she had clutched in her hand moments ago down on the table at the front of her office and pointed at a section of the paper, making it as if the potraits could see it. Rolling her eyes and clearing her throat she read out loud. "Holbrook has recently been seen drunkenly about with friend and fellow professor Piper Kincaid." She let a small exasperated sigh and looked up at the portrait of the former headmistress, Minerva McGonagall. How you managed this without going insane is beyond me Professor.
Rachel picked the Prophet back up and slowly walked back over to her desk, sitting down and resting her face in her hands. It was all just part of the job, she knew that. She also knew she needed to calm down and think rationally. The Prophet was known to lie on occasion. How could she relax though? She turned the paper back a page and looked at her picture on the parchment. They knew about Markus. Luckily however they only thought he was missing. No one knew he was dead just yet. But still, it was reason to worry. Focus Rachel. Everything will be fine. She lifted her head and rest back into her chair. She had already sent owls to Dawn and Piper and they were expected to be arriving anytime.
Her fingers fiddled with the fix charm bracelet she had on her wrist and she tilted her head to peer at the basket they lay by her desk. A small white/grey fox looked up at her and turned it's head to the side slightly. Clicking her tongue twice, Rachel patted her knee and watched as the fox jumped up onto her lap, curling up into a ball and nuzzling into her. She smiled down at the creature as she ran her thin fingers through it's fur. "I honestly don't know what I'd do without you Autumn." The sound of moving rock caught Rachel's attention and she slowly looked up at her office door. They were finally here, and now all that was left was to wait for them to walk in. She just had to remember to stay calm. She didn't need her Professors revolting against her. That wouldn't help matters at all.

“Your homework assignment… I want you all to spend some time outside and make a chart of what you see up in the sky. You don’t need to know names or anything of the sort for now… Our galaxy is filled with many wondrous things and with one simple glance you might just discover a new star. You’re dismissed,” Dawn said with a small wave of her hand as the second year Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws filtered their way out of the classroom one by one.
A small sigh escaped her lips as she turned around and made her way toward the old oak desk resting in the front of the classroom. As the days went by it became easier for the brunette to think of herself as a professor, or at least she thought she thought she was improving her skills at pretending to be one… It had been quite unnerving at first, but a comfortable routine was starting to take over. She quickly learned that having some sort of lesson plan set up allowed her more time to continue her search for James and keep in touch with the Auror Department. She didn’t need the added stress of not knowing what to do with the students when they arrived to her class. It was bad enough that her world was falling apart at the seams as it were.
Concentrating her gaze on the stack of papers resting on top of the desk Dawn remembered that halfway through the last lesson she had received an owl from Headmistress Isley. Reaching into the pocket of her jeans she pulled out the letter and quickly read it with a small sense of dread. If anyone told Dawn Holbrook to chase ‘bad’ guys she would do it without hesitation, but put her in Hogwarts as a Professor and her confidence was gone.
She knew why Isley wanted to see her… After reading the Daily Prophet that morning it became quite clear why she was requested to meet with the Headmistress. So much had been exposed in one single issue… Even Isley herself had made it on to the pages… Was she going to bring up James or the article Lockhart wrote about her saying that she was a bad influence and that her and Piper were drunks? There were so many things…
After dropping the letter she straightened out her white tank top and ran a hand through her dark locks wearily before turning around and walking out of the empty classroom. On any other given day she would have been heading to the dungeons to visit with Piper, but instead she was going down there so that they could walk to the Headmistress’ office together. Dawn couldn’t help but feel like a student once again as she pulled the heavy wooden doors open after climbing the infamous spiral staircase.
“You wanted to see us, Headmistress Isley?” Dawn asked the tall blonde women who looked like she had been waiting for their arrival for quite some time. “Why don’t we make this easier on all of us, eh? What you read in the prophet is simply false… We had drinks, but we were simply catching up with one another.”
It probably wasn’t the best approach, but it wasn’t something Dawn wanted to be dragged out. She didn’t know Rachel Isley well enough yet to get an idea of what her views or thoughts were, but she hoped that her judement was good enough that she wouldn’t let something like this obstruct her view of what type of people they were.
Dawn's eyes shifted over to Piper wondering if her temper was in check that evening or if the students from the day had wear down what patience she had left.
Hopefully this would just be quick and painless.

Being a professor was something that Piper found herself having mixed emotions on. She enjoyed being in control of something, teaching little ones everything she knew, as well as sharing stories, but there were times where she wanted to explode things. She wanted things to be thrown away, to demand attention from those who seemed to find no interest in her course, and hated when she felt like she was being ignored. This day seemed to billow into the worst lesson yet, due to her students’ lack of respect. She realized now that this probably wasn’t the best profession for her, what with anger problems and lack of patients, but she knew her potions. She was damn good at those, to say the least, and no one could deny that. She bit her lip, attempting to breathe, but her mind seemed to just sink away. The class was ending and it was a good thing, too.
It was time for the meeting soon. She found herself fixing up her classroom quickly before she ad advanced to the door way. She exited, walking as if nothing were out of the ordinary, but not exactly rushing to get there, either. She found herself easily distracted by many things, but attempted to keep her mind as focused as possibly. She didn’t want to keep her waiting due to the fact that she, herself, hated to be kept. She stared at the stairway, but found herself slightly confused at the moment. This couldn’t have been for what she thought it was – on behalf of the fact that Dawn Holbrook had nothing to do with it. Not unless she was here to help her explain her temper issues, but even that didn’t make sense. She stared at the girl as the doors flew open.
She listened, but suddenly became a little bit more confused. “Wait… read in the prophet?” She asked suddenly. “What is this about?” She asked. She hadn’t been keeping up with things since she returned to England. She seemed to still be a couple steps behind, but that was most likely for the best. She stared at the woman’s desk, seeing a picture of Dawn on the cover, and advanced to the other side of the desk to skim it. Her eyes went right for the author, however. The name sounded familiar, but she couldn’t place it immediately.
