The clear and distinct clicking could be heard a mile away. It echoed down the stone pathway of Hogsmeade as the clear night sparkled with small stars littered across the sky. The streets were buzzing as much as they could in Hogsmeade village with the excitement of the upcoming weekend set in everyone’s minds. Still with the commotion of eager people combing the streets, the clicking could be heard over it. Its sharp, quick pace could only be matched by that of the four inch heeled blond, Blair Lockhart. Just like her days in Hogwarts, she was dressed to the nines, her heels high and clicking, giving all fair warning to get out of the way. Her cool face and bright blond hair was done to perfection, her clothing pressed to the nines, and her strut was enough to make any model run for their money. She always had a way about her walk that made people shake in fear as she passed.
Blair had been out of school for two years and despite the way she walked those two years had been anything but easy. She had been shocked to find that people did not crawl beneath their hideous shells and turned to greet her when she entered a room. She was shocked to find that she was not the big bitch on campus anymore. With the end of Hogwarts came the end of Blair’s reign of terror amongst a good portion of people in many ways. Her looks and her blunt style only got her so far in the real world and while she had hoped to quickly climb the social and occupational ladder nothing too spectacular had happened to her. Still this made her more determined than ever to make a name for herself in this bigger pond of fish. This lit a fire in her to conquer the world like she did the Hogwarts world; one take down at a time. It was sure to come for now she was biding her time. To everyone around her Blair was the pinnacle of social and occupational success but it was yet another one of her many elaborate lies to keep up appearances. In the two years since graduation this former Slytherin hadn’t changed one bit.
Stepping into a busy Three Broomsticks Blair took a seat at the Blair. She crossed her legs, revealing a bit of thigh that was on the verge of being more than risky—her style of course. Her short skirt, high heels and perfectly done hair was one of the things Blair took the most care and time in. To her it was almost her everything.
She ordered a drink and pulled out a number of papers from her rather large bag. It was a Friday night and Blair was stuck working. How had her life come to this? Where was the fun, the adventure, and the drama? Oh, right, she had to write about it to make it happen in a place as utterly dull and elderly of that of Wizarding London. She shook her head in disgust. She was supposed to be meeting her camera guy later too see what the latest pieces he had gotten for the next issue of the Prophet. On top of that she had articles to revise, letters to respond to, and ideas to spawn...and that was just the list of to dos she had been given by her editor. It was going to be a long night.
Lifting up a piece of paper she read it over quickly. Scanning the names and letting the ideas mull over in her head, “Alright,” she mused, whipping out her quick quotes quill, “Whose life shall we ruin tonight.”
Her sickeningly sweet voice was but a whisper as a cynically vicious smile fell over her perfectly glossed lips. While in many ways life had handed Blair the chance to make a change in herself and in the community it was astounding at how quickly she reverted back to her old ways. She was treating real life exactly like Hogwarts and for that reason the Wizarding World would never full be ready for the Blair Lockhart of 2026.
